Powers
This is lifted right off of my app but got really huge, really quickly so it gets it's own entry.
Steel has a number of abilities seen throughout the series which are implied to have come from whoever his bosses are to make his work easier. As an Operator he has a number of abilities, the most basic of which he calls communication and is what we'd see as telepathy. What we primarily see on screen is him talking with Sapphire and sensing her own emotional well being and such throughout the series, and while he can't really have a conversation with non-telepaths with it, he does it a lot with others of his kind. All Operators (like he and Sapphire) also seem to have a gift of sensing a presence of the temporal anomalies and ghosts around them, unlike his partner however he's not as sensitive to such things and where she would feel even the smallest things he tends to not. He's also seen to be able to change his appearance by manipulating Time to a point where he looked different. It's how he changes his appearance in the '30s and Sapphire is shown to be able to change her hair color and outfit with ease. Because of how this is done it's very possible he could change into other creatures as well which would make the need for telepathy understandable.
To balance out his lack of medium-esque talents, Steel has something like super strength. How strong he is we never exactly know but he's perfectly capable of tying knots into elevator cables with the elevator still attached and of snapping a knife with one hand (though this is only ever seen with metal and he isn't ever seen capable of busting down doors unlike another Operator seen in the series named Lead, though it's also possible he never does this because he's somewhat polite and Lead is a jolly giant of a man that doesn't mind knocking things down).
A separate ability we also see him use is the ability to lower his body temperature to absolute zero which has the effect of freezing anything his skin touches except his clothes (look this is an 80's era supernatural/sci-fi series, nudity alas wasn't a thing on air even though looking at David McCallum's body would've been appreciated, and consistency in abilities is like asking Doctor Who's set director to hide the green bubble wrap aka it ain't gonna happen). This ability however happens to be extremely dangerous for him to do as without his insulation aka Lead, there's no way for the cold to not effect himself and if he does it for too long there's a very real possibility of him dying, though it always drains him of his strength unless Lead is holding him as he does it. When he stops it on his own to warm up and not die, how long it takes him to recover his strength is dependent on the heat around him. The more heat near him as he sleeps to recover the quicker he'll be back on his feet.
He's also been shown to have some talents that I can't really name. He's shown to be able to force people to stand still by touching them, make them tell the truth as well as manipulate computers to give him what he needs to know by moving his fingers. He has to be in the same room and able to see them for most of these abilities. Again this will all be handled OOCly via asking people and a permissions post as man this can get god modey quick.
How he travels between different times isn't ever really understood or explained, he just can do it. However for the sake of the game I'm going to just say this ability of his is nerfed because I have no fucking clue how he does it. He does however show up places in the same time, almost like teleportation but without a flashy effect, and I thought he could perhaps keep this one but limit it to places he's seen. Exsilium is a new environment for him after all and without the knowledge he has of how time should go he won't be quick to jump into things with it.
Finally it's seen that he is capable of using other's abilities if he understands how they work, at least when working in tandem with Sapphire. He does this specifically with Silver's transmutation ability of materials, turning glass into mercury, but only because both he and Sapphire understand how it works. It's really hazy as to the how or why, but I'm pretty sure it has to do with combining their abilities to make it happen (Steel's understanding and manipulating of metal and Sapphire's stronger psychic talents). Though this does show that he and Sapphire can work together to increase their abilities, as he even does that to help her bring time back at one point.
Apart from his abilities however he has also shown a talent for building gadgets out of things in the era they are from as well as understanding the idea behind why things are happening the way they are. Most of his knowledge is focused around his work and he lacks knowledge of many Earth related things. Also, as by word of god, he's exceptionally long lived and waiting 75 years is nothing to him. He's an Element of some kind (steel isn't an element I know but that's how this show goes) and well they last a very long time in some cases. Also because he's an element he doesn't really ever eat or drink and he doesn't need to.
